i Ricchi

This has been one of Washington’s favorite upscale Italian restaurants since it opened in 1989. The only thing that’s changed over the years is the addition of greenery to the clean-lined dining room. The specialty of the house is hearty Tuscan food, simply and deliciously cooked on a wood-fired grill or oven. Game and meat dishes are the thing to order here, and pastas are good, too. Spectacular breads are made in-house. The wines can be pricey, but you’re sure to find one that you might order if you were dining at the original I Ricchi near Florence. - Gayot
