Under the watchful eye of its owner-executive chef, BRABO lands in the spotlights for its three-part, all-food business: the restaurant BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier, the casual BRABO Tasting Room for lighter fare, and the butcher shop, called The Butcher’s Block, A Market by RW. For three-in-one eat-it-all feasting, this makes an unbeatable combo. The star in this trio, of course, is BRABO, where Wiedmaier fuses his Belgian roots with casual American eating. A fine example of this is the lunchtime Randall Lineback burger, a richly flavored patty wrapped with bacon and cheese and served on brioche. For his Belgian dishes, try the bistro filet with Belgian frites or the mussels in white wine. In the evening, you may have to forego the burger, but your heftier choices include seared turbot, crispy skate wing, roasted Long Island duckling, and his famous braised pork shank that is slow-cooked ambrosia. Made-in-house desserts are mandatory, with the trio of pots de crème---chocolate, hazelnut and mango---bested only by the Belgian waffle with a cherry compote and cream cheese mousse.
